Baird Adds Lance Lange, Continues Build Out of Equity Transaction Business

MILWAUKEE, April 21, 2011

Baird, an employee-owned, international capital markets, private equity, wealth and asset management firm, today announced that it has added Lance R. Lange as Managing Director to the firm’s Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team. Lange, who previously had worked at Baird, will focus on Baird’s equity transaction business within the Industrial and Transportation & Logistics sectors. Based at Baird’s headquarters in Milwaukee, he will work closely with Greg Ingram and Peter Kies, Co-Directors of Baird’s ECM Desk.

The addition of Lange demonstrates Baird’s continued build out of its equity transaction business, which provides clients with financing options including initial public offerings (IPOs), follow-on offerings and Private Investment in Public Equities (PIPEs). Baird’s ongoing investments into this area have resulted in great success. The firm completed a record 76 financing transactions in 2010 and experienced one of its strongest quarters ever, financing 19 deals with more than $7.2 billion in dollar volume in the first quarter of 2011.

Baird continues to invest in its Equity Capital Markets platform, and the addition of Lance is yet another example of that ongoing focus,” said Bill Mahler, Chairman of ECM. “We see tremendous opportunity in the marketplace for Baird to provide its deep equity financing expertise and services to institutional clients. We are very excited to have Lance lend his talents and knowledge to this effort.”

Steve Booth, Director of Investment Banking added, “With his skills, experience and first-hand knowledge of Baird’s clients and culture, Lance is ideally suited to work with Greg, Peter and the rest of the ECM team. We’re excited to have him back at Baird and confident that his addition will enable us to capture new opportunities.”
